RECEIVING MATERIAL HANDLER
Role Summary
Apothecary Products is currently seeking a Receiving Material Handler who will move freight both manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality; wraps, delivers, and retrieves supplies to and from work areas; tags and issues supplies; stocks shelves; rotates inventory, and maintains equipment and vehicles. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the effectiveness of processes that monitor and maintain inventory integrity across the company; maintains inventory management tools/reports used to assess inventory. Verify counts and that product is not damaged and is the correct product.
- Makes sure that product is put away in the proper area.
- Maintains equipment and notifies supervisor of needed maintenance.
- Must take and pass lift certification course and recertify every 3 years to operate lifts.
- Operates electric power jack, reach truck, and dock truck.
- Participates in physical inventories.
- Operates RF Hand Held computer to access, and enter correct information.
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Other duties as beneficial to APL.
Essential Education, Skills & Experience
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
- Required: Minimum 1 year solid work experience.
- Preferred: 1+ year solid work experience in receiving warehouse role.

Critical Skills & Abilities
- Must be at least age 18.
- Must work with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
- Demonstrable experience with computers including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and capable of being quickly proficient in ERP.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow standard operating procedures within APL.
- Fully understands established quality standards.
- Must take and pass lift certification course and recertify every 3 years to operate lifts.
- Operate electric power jack, reach truck, and dock truck.
- Takes active role in working safely and upholding APL’s commitment to maintenance of a safe work environment; speaks up when safety concerns present.
- Verified personal and professional values aligning with APL.

Physical Requirements
Infrequently team- lifts of 40lbs, walking, standing, reaching, bending and stretching.

- Must have the ability to exert yourself physically for an eight-hour shift; must be able to walk/stand for duration of assigned shift in intervals of 4-5 hours.
- Position requires full use of arms and hands to reach overhead, forward and to sides.
- See and communicate with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
- Must be alert and aware of surrounding for safety concerns.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. (infrequently).
- Must be willing to work on an elevated lift.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position is a combination of office and manufacturing settings. As Apothecary Products is a manufacturer and distributor of products and supplies, the incumbent will be exposed to various temperatures, fumes and loud noise in the manufacturing setting. Due to periodic time spent on the manufacturing floor, the incumbent must be able to tolerate some exposure to these work place characteristics. The incumbent must also follow company safety procedures.
