Open Your Heart fundraiser

We’d like to give a shout-out to our team members and everyone who donated to APL’s food drive supporting 360 Communities’ Open Your Heart fundraiser!

Thanks to your generous donations and an APL company matching donation, 360 Communities network of five food shelves received much needed food items as well as matching grant money from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless.

We are so proud of our team members and their passion for supporting our community. Thank you, again!

For the second year in a row, APL has been recognized as an mspWellness Champion, a designation reserved for organizations that work to positively affect the health and wellbeing of their team members and communities. We are proud to receive this award as we continue our commitment to growing our total wellbeing approach and we are excited to be featured in an upcoming newsletter sharing our wellbeing efforts!

May 2023 One APL Award

Apothecary Products, LLC (APL) recently presented Josh Bistram (Production Manager), Gaby Orr (Director, Global Regulatory Affairs + Retail) and Denny Young (Sr. Accounting Manager) with its One APL Award at an All-Team Meeting in May 2023.

The One APL Award honors outstanding team members who demonstrate a sense of team and selflessly put APL first to deliver on behalf of the entire team. APL team members nominate their peers for this award quarterly with a cross-functional committee selecting the recipient(s). Award recipients receive invitation for themselves and a guest to an annual recognition event, reserved parking, award trophy, certificate, and company-wide recognition.

The nomination is a powerful affirmation of the value of a nominee’s work, particularly because nominations come from peers. This program is among several at APL celebrating our collaborative, high-performing work culture.

Apothecary Products Continuous Giving Scholarship Recipients Named

Apothecary Products is thrilled to share Maggie Hamen and Nick Enos have been named 2023 recipients of its $2500 scholarship program, a scholarship awarded based on students exhibiting exemplary community stewardship.

 

Maggie, relative of Zion Mueller, Quality Assurance Manager for Apothecary Products, is a first-year student at Minnesota State University – Mankato majoring in Business. Maggie’s commitment to supporting her community began in high school where she was actively involved in the rural community she was raised. She has supported her community by being an active member of her church, volunteered at her local library, and drove awareness to the local women’s shelter. Maggie creatively came up with the idea to use her mother’s leftover cotton fabric from the mask-making days of COVID to sew toiletry bags which were gifted to the women’s shelter. Today, Maggie continues to donate these bags to shelters throughout Minnesota.

 

Nick, relative of Kristine Clausen, Vice President Human Resources for Apothecary Products, is a first-year student also at Minnesota State University – Mankato majoring in Business. Nick too began his commitment to supporting his community in high school, volunteering for various charities in partnership with his family and church. As an Asian American who was adopted at a young age, Nick has also actively participated in diversity programs in high school and college to drive awareness around these personal topics to foster inclusivity. Nick is a current member of the fraternity Phi Kappa Psi, which enables him opportunities to support fundraising and time-based giving activities for a variety of charities including the Children’s Miracle Network and Gillette Children’s Hospital.

We wish Maggie, Nick, and all the applicants success in their academic endeavors and thank all applicants for their role in building a better community.

Apothecary Products Named Employer of Excellence

Apothecary Products Named Employer of Excellence

Apothecary Products, Burnsville was named as one of the area’s Employers of Excellence on May 25th. The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board recognized six area organizations as Employers of Excellence for their employee retention, compensation and training practices. In these times of numerous workforce challenges, the Workforce Development Board wanted to recognize some of the best employers in Dakota and Scott counties.

Each participant completed a 40-question survey that allowed their employment practices to be analyzed by a consulting firm. Every organization participating in the survey received a 20-page report detailing the information on their company and the results of the survey. Employers were evaluated on numerous metrics.

Program sponsors included the Workforce Development Board,  Dakota County Community Development Agency, Scott County Community Development Agency, Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College.

Key factors for the organization included:

  • High promotion rates
  • 100% enrollment in voluntary retirement program
  • 100% enrollment in Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability program
  • 26 paid days off after one-year of employment.

Innovative practices included:

  • Inclusive environment – Committed to attracting, motivating, developing, and retaining people who represent differences of all kinds such as gender, age, race, religion, work style and diversity of thought.
  • Efforts to expand applicant pool included refreshing job titles, hiring bonuses, increasing base compensation, created ESG program, and celebrating company charitable giving activities thru social media posts.

Apothecary Products is thrilled to share Anna Edsill and Samantha Jo Giesen have been named 2022 recipients of its $2500 scholarship program, a scholarship awarded based on students exhibiting exemplary community stewardship.

Anna, niece of Connie Jeurissen, Customer Relations Manager for Apothecary Products, is a second-year student at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse majoring in Exercise and Sports Science and minoring in Spanish. Anna’s commitment to supporting her community began in high school where she was involved in several volunteer projects including Peer Mentors and America Reads. Today she finds opportunities to give back through the Physical Therapy school club and Conversation Partners, a program connecting Spanish speaking students and Spanish language learners.

Samantha, daughter of Linda Anderson – Buyer for Apothecary Products, is a first-year students at Morningside University in Sioux City majoring in Counseling Psychology and English with a minor in Gender Studies. Samantha is actively involved throughout her campus, including serving as Secretary for the on-campus chapter of Active Minds, a nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults. Samantha also engages in her community action by writing for her schools literary magazine, the Kiosk.  She has authored multiples pieces on mental health.
